Fleetwood Mac

Fleetwood Mac's rendering of Willie John 'need your love so bad' was solid winner at Sommerlyst Ungdomsklubb (high school social club) diskoes in Tromsø 1968-69. Er,well, 'discoteque' not in modern sense- just us kids bringing along records and queing up behind premises' sole gramaphone.

'need' a steady floor filler as lasses always were looking out for real clingers . And 'need' a good'un at that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtmW2ek7WkQ&feature=related Mac 2.0* dubbing the shorter euro version -the one we first got hold of on Norw. yellow label CBS- even prior to even slower UK Blue Horizon 7"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_CV9cZhyi4&feature=watch-vrec later we found long versions on 'rose' and 'nun' compilation LPs. Well, maybe only on US 'rose', after all. 'nun' take may be 3rd or 4th shortie. Anyway, the prolong'd US version clocks in at fine six min. and has nicely enhanced reed and strings arrangements. Always thought these to be of Johnny Almond's, but recent info pointing to Mickey 'guitar' Baker? Mickey (or Johnny) may have lifted at least part of these from Nick de la Cara's (?!) arrangement of Sonny Knight's version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApZGQyY-MF4

Peter Green's solo leans on dry jazz guitar of John's original http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq4EByQ5AGc

West coast guitar style, to me. But recorded in Cincinatti 1955, so who knows.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LXk9zgSN6w&feature=watch-vrec Sonny Knight's 60s lounge lizard style is of considerable interest, might even be pointing towards scarce transgender-soul of Jackie Shane&kin?

Early Mac had Norwegian connotations, as drummer Michael F lived in Moss/Råde and later Bærum 55-63, following standard Norw. primary+secondary schools. Easter 1968 he returned with new group, dubbing 'moneymaker' on state telly as well as visiting old chums at Kolsås, Bærum.

Tired of Spencer's endless Elmore mannerisms? Sure, we all were after some time. So let's rather enjoy Mac 3.0 (with Kirwan) real live on New Year's eve 1968 in Paris. To my knowledge, they never issued Otis Rush 'homework' in any form. So the bigger the pleasure to present it here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13c1CeelzH4&feature=related speeded up Northernly, we might even be misled to say these days...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjapRXIpEBU and rush/homework in originalem, of course

"Chicagean Youngsters"

Quinton Joseph and Bernard Reed, chicagean youngsters that transformed
flat "rhythm section"to integral part of melody band. Joseph's flo&ebb
drum wavering and Reed's wall-to-wall bass filling in every wee
little tonal square of the song. In Carl Davis//Will Henderson/Eugene

Record Chi-stable 68-71, later turning to Phillie's greener pastures.

FADERN DISKOTEKET (TRONDHEIM) APRIL 2012

"Diskoteket" Trondheim 21st of April, 2012

Father committed DJ deadly sin of duplicating

Torggata Bar list of 23rd of March, as late night

set in Trondheim. Miles apart those two venues,

geographically as well as for party profile. Still

a nasty one this'ere, further burdening Father's

already rather worn reputation among turntable

tillers. But DID he bring bugi havoc down on

unsuspecting poolhallers' heads at Torggata!
